Pre-Surgery Classes Mercy’s Total Joint Replacement Program includes a pre-surgery education class. During the two-hour program, patients meet the professionals who will be involved in their care and learn about their treatment and recovery plan.
By the end of the class, patients will have an understanding of everything from their initial hospital stay through post-operative and recovery phases of their treatment. In addition, patients meet with a case manager at this time who will help to identify resources and equipment that may be needed after leaving the hospital.
Knowing what to expect is one way Mercy helps to take away some of the anxiety, replacing it with an assurance to help patients every step of the way.
